Serving Madison, Southern Wisconsin and the greater multiple myeloma community
"Providing an opportunity for multiple myeloma patients
and their loved ones to
come together to exchange information for mutual support, comfort, and friendship"
Multiple myeloma is the second most common blood cancer, and is considered a cancer of the immune system. It is currently considered incurable but is treatable. Multiple myeloma accounts for less than one percent of all cancers. If you are new to understanding multiple myeloma, it may be helpful for you to start with the links in the left column.
Note that multiple myeloma is very individual, and patients should discuss any changes with their physician. The information provided in this Web site is for educational purposes only.

See the current newsletter for information about:
- WAHO - Wisconsin Association of Hematology and Oncology – Best
of ASH Great conference! Lots of statistics, etc. Dr Matthew Brunner sent
out an email asking for feedback on how to make the conference better.
Definitely continue with the patient Q&A sessions. Include patient
focused summary slides, short document detailing important points of key
studies presented and having patients/caregivers submit questions ahead
of time. This was our feedback that was sent back to Dr Matthew Brunner.
Our appreciation to all of the doctors and presenters that stayed an extra
hour for the patient panel.
- Our featured speaker for the February meeting, Riley Menagh sent her
slides and some other recommendations. Slides are attached for those who
have the internet. “Fund Finder” is a great tool to search

On a side note, our group member, David found an interesting article that
speaks to “Finding Happiness” and purpose in your life. A little
heavier reading but it boils down to having relationships, finding the”awe”
in life and dealing with hardships. How we handle hardships and finding
meaning.
